Islamorada Sailfish Tournament

The first leg of the triple-crown Florida Keys Gold Cup Championship series is the only tournament in the series to offer a junior division for anglers age 16 and younger. Unlimited anglers are allowed per vessel. Kick off is Nov. 29; fish dates Nov. 30, Dec 1 and 2. Awards ceremony Dec 2.

Lighting of the Key West “Harbor Walk of Lights."

Projected to feature 61,000 lights, 1,900 feet of garland and 58 lighted palm trees, the eagerly anticipated event kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Harbor Walk plaza at Greene and Elizabeth streets. An animated gumbo limbo tree on Lazy Way; lighted sculptures with animated sea life, tropical fish and birds; singers; and holiday ship anchors are new this year. Harbor Walk of Lights, lit nightly through New Year’s Eve, stretches along the Key West Historic Seaport and Key West Bight Marina.

International Sand Art Competition

Visitors can watch leading U.S. and international sand sculptors construct and display large-scale creations over Thanksgiving weekend on the Atlantic Ocean beach at the Casa Marina Resort, 1500 Reynolds St. The competition brings together incredibly talented sand sculptors from all around the world. The sculptors, each using seven tons of sand, have four days to create their works of art with just sand and water. Watch these artists at work, create your own sand castle, have a drink or two and enjoy live island music.

Florida Keys Eco-Discover Center’s Discovery Saturday: Marine Life Rescues

Discovery Saturday from 10-11 a.m. is hosted by Reef Relief and includes a lesson on marine mammal and sea turtle rescues, plus, finger painting a dolphin or whale crafted from a handprint. Space is limited. The Florida Keys Eco-Discover Center, operated by Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, hosts Discovery Saturday for children in kindergarten through fifth grade on the third Saturday of each month. Located in NOAA’s Dr. Nancy Foster Florida Keys Environmental Complex on the Truman Annex waterfront in Key West, the Eco-Discovery Center features more than 6,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, which interpret the resources and management efforts of Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, two national parks, and four national wildlife refuges.

Because the last 8 BrewFest's have been so much fun and such a success, we're doing it again!  Join us, in Key West over Labor Day weekend, September 1, 2018. The Southernmost Beach Resort has teamed up with the Key West Sunrise Rotary of the Conch Republic to host Key West BrewFest.  All proceeds to benefit the Rotary Club and their charitable efforts.  Events from beer dinners, beer brunches, happy hour parties, pool parties, late-night parties, seminars and the Signature Tasting Festival Event are some of the great activities we have on tap for you! And, try tasting close to 200 beers in one weekend!
