It was Friday night and I was watching the news and a blurb came up about a professor and how he has impacted so many people around the world. I was interested in seeing what it was about, however we were going to the movies and had to leave before it came on. Then this morning, I was reading an email that took me to a website that had a blog on it that looked interesting. So, I clicked on the blog and began to read. The title was Sometimes it takes a dying man to set you straight and low and behold it was a blog with a video clip on the news piece I had missed on Friday night. Strange how things work out!

I watched the enitre video of the presentation (1 hour and 44 minutes), with my husband and my oldest son. The topic of the presentation was what wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance? For Carnegie Mellon professor Randy Pausch, the question isn't rhetorical -- he's dying of cancer. He is considered one of the nation's foremost teachers of videogame and virtual-reality technology, he helped develop "Alice," a Carnegie Mellon software project that allows people to easily create 3-D animations.
