Duck Key is located in the Florida Keys at Mile Marker 61 on the ocean side. The lifestyle in Duck Key is very laid back where neighbors, fish, snorkel and dive right off their doorstep. A casual existence that stresses year round outdoor life for which the Florida Keys are famous.
Grand canals traversed by ornate bridges tell of Duck Key’s European / West Indies heritage. Duck Keys is a natural island. A composite of five islands: Yacht Club Island, Center Island, Harbour Island, Plantation Island and Indies Island, which provide seclusion, privacy and security. Only one road connects Duck Key to the main highway US1.
Duck Key has been experiencing moderate growth since the early 1950’s when Bryan Newkirk, a Canadian businessman, first started the development of this 300 acre island. Actually, Mr. Newkirk discovered Duck Key after winning a golf game. The stakes were $10,000.00, or an island in the Florida Keys.
Community features include: bike paths, boating, clubhouse, fitness center, playgrounds, parks, pool, tennis courts and a private club.
Club Duck Key is a private recreational and social center for residents of the islands known as Duck Key in the heart of the Florida Keys and was opened in February 2001. They now have a full membership of 118 families.
Features include a spacious clubhouse which is used for special events and has a busy social calendar. There is a heated outdoor pool and hot tub where water aerobics classes are held 3 times per week. 
For the tennis enthusiast there are 2 Har-Tru tennis courts which are used for tournaments, daily singles and doubles matches - and there's plenty of time for casual play.
The club grounds consist of several acres and are beautifully landscaped with native trees and flowering shrubs. There is also a large Tiki Hut at one end of the pool is a favorite spot for monthly Tiki Tuesdays and informal happy hours.
